Recently engaged reality TV star Kim Kardashian has “always dreamed of a big wedding”, and now with preparations for her big day, insiders say Kim’s wedding will cost a cool $10 million.
So move over Prince William and Kate Middleton – Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries appear to be gearing up for what will be the wedding of the year.
Mark your calendars and set your DVRs. Kim Kardashian’s wedding will be a two-part television event aired on the E! network. Was there any doubt anyone but the home of Keeping Up With Kardashians would air her wedding to Kris Humphries?
There are less than two weeks left until her big day, and bride-to-be Kim Kardashian is on track to rival all other celebrity weddings. (That means you, Will and Kate!)
The wedding invitations have been sent and the couple will say “I do” in Montecito, California during a black tie only event. Vera Wang is Kim Kardashian’s dress designer and you can see her designer gown when the two-part special airs in October.
If her wedding registry and fancy invites (we hear they cost $250 a person!) is any indication of what's to come on Aug. 20, this event will be pure Hollywood glamour and luxury.
Here's how we predict Kim and Kris Humphries' big day will stack up to other pricey, classy nuptials:
In 2000, two A-listers got hitched and sparked a phenomenon (or competition) of blowing major cash for their big day. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were those lucky lovers, and although their fairy tale ended all too soon, the wedding was one for the record books. Celeb guests like Cameron Diaz, Salma Hayek, Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer all attended and the event racked up a $1 million tab.
You can be sure to see familiar faces in attendance at Kim and Kris' wedding, too. Their Hollywood inner circle is made up of celebs like Demi Lovato, Brittny Gastineau and LaLa Vasquez (who all attended Kim's shower).
Vera Wang is a favorite among the famous when it comes to the gown, and she doesn't come cheap. Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump both donned the designer on their big days, and Kim has confirmed that she's wearing Wang as well, just like her sister Khloé when she married Lamar Odom.
While Kim's bill probably won't match the royals' $70 million tab, reports claim the festivities could cost $20 million. Matron-of-honor Khloé even told The Hollywood Reporter, "And I joke and I say it will be like the royal wedding because she is just like that."
But just like Will and Kate, Kim and her man will be televising their big day—right here on E! in a two-part special in October!
