Wrapping up a 12-day north American tour, their first overseas trip since marrying in April, the couple met children taking part in a project that gives free classes in visual and performing arts to children from poor neighborhoods.
We can feel the collective frown Canada and California made as Prince William and Kate Middleton left back to the U.K.
The royal couple dazzled the True North and our Sunshine State with their presence last week, but now that they've headed home, we can only wonder what's next on their agenda.
Oh wait, we already know...
Their future plans are to stay at home and do nothing!
Well, kind of.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have said that after their very successful foreign tour, the duo would like to keep a low profile for the rest of the year and just enjoy being newlyweds.
A source told The Daily Mail, " The past few months have been a whirlwind and she just wants to take a step back and spend some time with her new husband."
And apparently, Will is all up for that idea!
"The Duke is going for his flying captaincy which he hopes to get in early 2012. He needs to keep up his flying hours and there are some exams to get through, a lot of work needs to done and he has to dedicate himself to that," a spokesman told the Daily Mail.
But it's not all about getting things done.
There are more intimate reasons as well, which are vital for their marriage to succeed.
"They have not really lived together since their wedding and want to spend time together. Since they got married they were on honeymoon and then in London for most of June for family events and the like, and want to go back and have a married life together under the radar. They just want to enjoy their life in Anglesey and keeping things chilled."
In other words, they just want to be like any newly married couple and have some alone time.
And to that we say, cheerio!
